Elliott’s Lime Soda
Wayback Machine week 2
John: Elliott Smith - Angeles. Again, not sure what I had to say about this. As I think back now to that time, I think of Peladromey the elliottvangelist, throwing all the albums at me to see what would stick. “Angeles” and “Waltz #2″ are what stuck. Not long after, I got to see some short films about Elliott Smith (at Reel Music Film Festival in PDX) and the rest is fanboy history.
Butch: Negativland - Nesbitt’s Lime Soda. When I first saw this posted, I did a whuh-HUH? I knew Negativland only for their politics and their sound collages. Who knew they could come up with an ode to fizzy lifting drinks? I dug the Nehi soda reference as well — I lived on that stuff for a summer when I worked on a pineapple plantation.
Okay, starting next post you will see only the comments made back in the dizzay, in all their ugly naked glory.
