The closing of the year brings no new albums with it. All of those “best of the year” lists are published by the first week of December. And that’s how it is; no one expects to hear anything new from Thanksgiving till the beginning of the year (I can’t wait to buy Cat Power’s “The Greatest” in January!!)

You can imagine my surprise last week, then, when I wandered into my local record store and stumbled upon an entire disc of acoustic Bowie covers from Seu Jorge. Wes Anderson must’ve heard our pleas for more than the 5 Jorge songs included on the “Life Aquatic” soundtrack. Yay! The disc is entitled “The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions featuring Seu Jorge” and was released November 22, 2005.
