AAAAAAGH! Sleater-Kinney is breaking up!

Portland Mercury has the scoop. The Portland-based band are playing a few more summer gigs and then that is it, my friends.

Biggest Sleater-Kinney regret: never getting to see them live. And I don’t see a farewell PDX show listed yet.

My favorite Sleater-Kinney album is The Hot Rock. Here’s an entry I wrote 7 years ago about it. It’s factually inaccurate (for example, I now know that Sleater-Kinney did not found the Kill Rock Stars record label. heh), but I’m linking to it for nostalgia’s sake. I’ll see if I can drum up that mp3, but for now the link to “Start Together” is dead.
