Alright Yeah!

A little birdie told me over the weekend that Yep Roc will be reissuing some of Robyn Hitchcock’s back catalogue this fall. (This is great news, as alot of Robyn’s work is currently out of print.)
According to the email, the reissues will be single-disc, featuring bonus tracks on each. The reissues will also be packaged together in a box set, with an extra cd or two of unreleased tracks.
Pure conjecture: I’m taking a leap here and guessing that the reissues will be the nine titles that Rhino reissued in 1995 - basically everything “pre-A&M years”. Rhino packed those discs to the near-80-minute mark already, so I’m thinking that there won’t be any new material included with each album. We’ll have to wait and see what goodies the box set bonus disc(s) will bring……
While you are waiting for this, there are two recent reissues available on the Noble Rot label: Storefront Hitchcock, and Jewels For Sophia. Sadly, the only additions to these cds are liner notes penned by music journalist Scott Schinder.
I’ll leave you with a Mr. Hitchcock track that appeared on 2005’s “Obliteration Pie” (a Japanese “odds and sods” compilation):
