I happened across two very interesting covers over the weekend - one via the CBC in Canada and one via BBC Radio 2.

Sarah Slean - Lodestar - One Canadian Sarah covers another! In this case, Sarah Slean covering Sarah Harmer, with a string ensemble backing her up. This was part of a larger performance broadcast by the CBC that featured Sarah Slean covering other Canadian artists (including Ron Sexsmith, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Leonard Cohen, Feist and more). The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain - Anarchy In The U.K. - Recorded a few weeks ago at the Cambridge Folk Festival, this cover of the Sex Pistols anthem trades vitriol for nostalgia and English Humour. Not something I’d want to hear every day, but good for raising a smile in the midst of a heavy work day.
